Welcome to EUHWC! The Freshers’ Pentlands Walk is our introductory event during Freshers’ Week for anyone and everyone: no membership needed! The Pentlands are the range in the southwest suburbs of Edinburgh, the rolling hills you can see from any multi-story building in the city. We’ll take it easy on an afternoon half day out of the city with pleasant views and grassy slopes.
The only cost will be your own bus ticket (£1.60 each way for a 30-minute ride) and a few hours of your time in which to meet new friends and enjoy some fresh air.
Who is invited?
You. You are invited, your flatmate is invited, the person you met at Hive yesterday is invited, your dog is invited (but she must be well behaved enough to take on public transport).
Where do we meet?
a) At the steps of the National Scottish Gallery, Princes Street at 11am for an en-mass bus journey, or you can…
b) Take the bus, walk, cycle, hop or scooter your way to a pub called The Steading, on Biggar Road for a 12pm start.
What do we need?
Boots or sturdy shoes, warm clothes, waterproof jacket and trousers, lots of snacks, a bottle of water, and a rucksack. Fancy dress and silly items optional but encouraged.
Trip organized by Monika, Ieva and Stephen. See the Facebook event here and sign up for the event here.
