Edinburgh University Hillwalking Club

As some of you probably all ready know, coming Tuesday 8th September Doctors will be closed. So for one week only, our Tuesday pub meet will be moved to the Bow Bar (http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/ed...). Erik will be there as well to start signing up members for the new academic year.

The university year is starting soon, and you might be wondering how you can get involved with EUHWC! Click the title "Joining us!" to find out...

(i) Our New Members Night  is on Tuesday 22nd September in Appleton Tower Lecture Theatre 5 from 7.30pm onwards. This is the one to come to if you want to find out more about the club, become a member and/or sign up for our freshers' daytrips (the following weekend).

Congratulations to Peter, Barry, Will and Vera who have recently climbed their 200th (Peter and Barry) and 100th (Will and Vera) Munros! Although it proved impossible to settle upon a single Munro for this occasion, these events all took place on the same weekend.

Over the summer EUHWC life continues, with plenty of informal trips to keep you in shape, and the usual weekly pub meets to regain all of those lost calories! It's that time of year again when the outdoor stores in Edinburgh open up their doors and offer loads of discounts, so if you need any gear then now is the perfect time to stock up. In addition to Tiso, Blacks  and Mountain Warehouse also have discount nights which club members are invited to:

We have changed our pub to Doctors (http://www.edinburghpubguide.co.uk/PubDetails/Doctors_Bar__The_5.html) located at 32 Forest Road (opposite the Medical school). WE NO LONGER MEET AT THE SOUTHSIDER. It is still a Tuesday night, it is still 9pm unless a sign up is happening at 8.30pm, it is just a different location!!!!
