A new workshop, aimed at anyone who would like to start organising walks on club trips this year. Roger Wild, the MCofS "Scottish Students' Mountain Safety Officer", will be joining us for the day to share his wealth of experience. We'll start off in the morning with talks/discussions (probably based at King's Buildings), before mvoing on to the Pentlands in the afternoon for some "hands on" exercises. Topics will probably include skills required of a walk organiser, how to organise a walk (planning, equipment to take, etc), and what to do on the walk (responsibilities within the group, what to do in an emergency, etc). However, the day will be fairly informal, so don't be afraid to come armed with questions! There might even be some refreshments...
